This is something that happens in UK. At least that’s what I hear on the radio. October is the Stop Smoking Month  promoted by the NHS where everyone is encouraged to stop smoking for 28 days or more.

In line with this please find below certain Ayurvedic approaches that help towards stopping this habit.


Tulsi Tea:

Jala Neti:
Jala Neti or Nasal Wash with warm salt water solution with ½ tspn of sesame oil every morning as soon as you wake up. This helps to cleanse the nasal passages and helps to get rid of toxins accumulated due to smoking.


Buttermilk:
Daily intake of Buttermilk: 1/4th yoghurt and 3/4th water to blend together. Add some cumin powder if you wish to. Usually best time is around around 11am and 4pm. These are the times people are prone to smoke. hence consuming buttermilk helps to reduce this urge.


Shirodhara:
