It feels good to be back on track with my weight loss journey. I have always loved to work to a plan and a focus and aim in life. And to see that I am now down to the 56 bracket mark makes me really happy.
Once again I woke up really early at 5:30am. And today I was more focused.
- Woke up at 5:30am
- Got ready brushed teeth etc
- Down to kitchen and the usual 200 ml hot water followed by the Ayurveda Pura Pure Tulsi Tea.
NOTE: I have moved to Tulsi Tea to help my respiratory system as now my plan is to become more focused with my aim. I aim to increase the intensity of my weight loss journey.
Today I thought I would try something different in terms of training and physical exercise. A little while ago I was chatting to one of my students Anjalina Chugani and she recommended I try out Heather Robertson videos.
I thought I would give it a go. So I followed this video which is only 28 minutes but it is high intensity training. Although please bear in mind, I didn’t follow everything. I followed only what my body could allow. At times when I couldn’t do a session, I just replaced it with jogging in one place while I watched Heather do it! Here is the video link:Click Here
NOTE: I also chose this video because its a Fundraiser video by her to help raise funds for the Black Community. I did donate too, So it felt good. If you wish to, please do the same!
Rest of the day was as usual:
- Hot shower to help with sweating
- Got dressed and ready for work
- Herbs as usual:
I am doing a lot of online consultations at the moment. Some of them are with me seated. But then I do plenty of them standing too at my kitchen surface.
I have started to include something else in my daily routine now. When I become aware that I am slouching I pull my tummy muscles in real tight as I can and I pull my back and chest straight up. The aim is to hold my tummy in as often and as long as possible.
NOTE: Doing this helps to stimulate your digestive fire on a regular basis. If you are looking to lose weight around the tummy region like me you will be amazed that doing this a few times during the day works like magic.
Today was a busy day at work with Instagram chats again and academy related admin work. And to be very honest in all the “busy-ness” I completely forgot to have anything during lunch hour. But then to help compensate it I had a glass of a fruit smoothie around 3pm. The recipe is as follows:
RECIPE:
- Pomegranate – handful
- Blueberries – handful
- Sweet apple – half
- Raspberries – handful
- Ayurveda Pura Get Fit Mix – 1/2tspn
- Grated Ginger ¼ tspn
- Blend it with warm water
NOTE: Did you know Pomegranate has great weight loss properties?
At 4pm I went for my usual 40 minute walk. But because I wanted to increase my intensity of practice, I changed it a bit:
- I changed my walking route.
- I chose a route which has a high gradient of walking. It is quite a steep slope.
- It was a very brisk or fast pace of walking – both down the slope and up the slope.
- On return from my walk I did the following at home which lasted 10 minutes:
- Alternating Downward Dog with Upward Dog Poses. Holding each pose for a count of 5. 15 repetitions
- Bhastrika Breathing: 3 sets. Each sets had 45 counts of Bhastrika Breathing followed by 15 seconds of holding the tummy muscles on the out breath. Click Here for instructions.
Once again this was followed by a hot shower. But more importantly after the hot shower I had 500 ml of warm hot water to drink down.
NOTE: Continuous intake of warm or hot water during the day helps towards weight loss. Bear in mind it should be plain warm or hot water. Not to add anything to it. No Lemon. No Ginger. Plain warm water is alkaline and helps to also get rid of any lactic acid accumulation especially after a workout or training session. Warm or hot water helps to stimulate your digestive fire. At the same time because its alkaline it also helps to nourish the tissues. You will be amazed if you continue with warm water intake regularly this also helps to regulate appetite and you will end up never over eating.
Dinner:
- Indian Spiced Chick Peas (Also called Chole)
- Indian Puffed-up bread – thins (Also called Puri)
- Indian Carrot Salad
NOTE: The good thing about a healthy weight loss journey is not about restricting or forcing yourself to eat bland food. Food can be tasty and healthy and nourishing.
NOTE: When you have worked all day, both on a professional and personal level, you know you deserve to give yourself some love and care. Hence you may notice so far that when it comes to my dinner, it will always be a heart healthy meal. And I love this part of the whole journey.
Dinner time now a days is more like 6pm. And I like this early routine. This gives my system enough time to digest the food so that come 9:30pm or so I can enjoy my Ayurvedic Golden Milk.
The evening herbs haven’t changed and still remain the same:
Ayurveda Pura’s Triphala 2 capsules and Ayurveda Pura’s Castor Oil 1 teaspoon and 3 mugs of Ayurveda Pura’s Orange & Fennel Bliss Tea .
This was followed by Ayurveda Pura’s Ayurvedic Golden Milk blend in hot milk. I love this part of the day. It helps to completely calm down my mind and nervous system and it has started to help with deep improved sleep.
So far so good! And the most important thing is that a slow and a permanent change can be seen as I progress though this journey!
SUMMARY: I have intensified my plan and I am happy with it. Please remember I have used the term plan. This is life and we never know what happens next. So the plan for now is to have intense focus on this aim of weight loss. I sweated a lot today and that felt really good too. Food was delicious and great. And I am loving it.
